Speech and Language
The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center’s (Mid-Ohio ESC) ten full-time and one part-time speech pathologists provide an array of services including the following:
- Conduct speech/hearing/language screenings
- Carry out comprehensive diagnostic evaluations
- Write multi-factored evaluation reports
- Participate as members of multi-disciplinary teams
- Develop Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for students
- Participate in ongoing teacher and parent conferences
- Complete required documentation for Special Education Services
- Provide in-service training
- Participate in continuing professional education
- Coordinate assistive technology support services
- Participate in district meetings
- Plan curricular/instructional interventions
- Supervise support personnel
- Serve on teacher intervention assistance teams
- Serve as mentor teachers
- Meet other school responsibilities.
They are also engaged with Mid-Ohio OES Special Education District Reviews, Kindergarten Screenings in many school districts, Bus Driver Hearing Screenings and the Medicaid School Billing program.
