Speech and Language

The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center’s (Mid-Ohio ESC) ten full-time and one part-time speech pathologists provide an array of services including the following:

  • Conduct speech/hearing/language screenings
  • Carry out comprehensive diagnostic evaluations
  • Write multi-factored evaluation reports
  • Participate as members of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Develop Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Participate in ongoing teacher and parent conferences
  • Complete required documentation for Special Education Services
  • Provide in-service training
  • Participate in continuing professional education
  • Coordinate assistive technology support services
  • Participate in district meetings
  • Plan curricular/instructional interventions
  • Supervise support personnel
  • Serve on teacher intervention assistance teams
  • Serve as mentor teachers
  • Meet other school responsibilities.

They are also engaged with Mid-Ohio OES Special Education District Reviews, Kindergarten Screenings in many school districts, Bus Driver Hearing Screenings and the Medicaid School Billing program.
