          After 10 rounds of competition, Alex Wion, an eighth grader from Bucyrus Middle School, is the Crawford County Spelling Bee Champion.  Alli Scott, an eighth grader from Wynford, was the runner-up.

          Thirty spellers competed in the bee held on January 12 at William Crawford Intermediate School.  Others placing in the Top 12 included Elizabeth Wilson,

Bucyrus 4^th grade; Malia Posey, Bucyrus 5^th grade; Alex Wion, Bucyrus 8^th grade; Brock Ritzhaupt, Colonel Crawford 8^th grade; Shiyenne Current, Crestline 7^th grade; Olivia Corwin, Crestline 7^th grade; Ben Rinehart, Galion 5^th grade; Makayla Crockett, Galion 4^th grade; Alli Scott, Wynford 8^th grade; Drew Johnson, Wynford 4^th grade; Max Phillips, St. Bernard 8^th grade; and Chloe Sargent, St. Bernard 8^th grade.

          Every speller will receive a certificate and the champion and first runner-up receive trophies.  Certificates and trophies are provided by the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum.

          The top twelve finishers will be invited to participate in the Tri-County Spelling Bee held at Mid-Ohio ESC on February 9 at 6:30 p.m.  The alternate date is February 16.

The public is welcome to attend the spelling bee.  Mid-Ohio ESC is located at 890 West Fourth Street in Mansfield.
