Geometric Abstraction
An Art Workshop for Teachers and their Students
Noted artist, sculptor, and painter, Frank Stella created amazing art forms which were nonrepresentational of true life objects. He was once quoted as saying "what you see, is what you see" when interpreting his abstract work. The day will include viewing, discussing, and creating art inspired by this iconic artist.
Participants will learn to create a shaped, relief sculpture by incorporating sequential patterns and developing spatial illusion with lines and/or color in developing an original piece. Students will utilize various art mediums including markers, pencils, water colors, and more in completing this multi-step process.
