Schools ReImagined Reboot Leadership Conference

WOW! ReImagined Reboot was a special day here at Mid-Ohio ESC!

The day started off with a visit from Paolo Demaria, Ohio Department of Education Superintendent of Public Instruction and a special day of motivation, learning and sharing. The entire focus was tied around the State of Ohio’s strategic plan, followed the four learning domains and matching them to quotes from the Shawshank Redemption movie. As attendees toured the prison, they were able to visit seven key locations from the movie and stop at four sites to engage in educational conversations (led by staff of the ESC and WOSU) that identified quotes regarding the relationship to the state plan and what's happening in our classrooms today. Then, those comments were used for an afternoon activity to tie it together and to make a plan of how attendees COMMIT to make change in the cultures of their classrooms and buildings by using Twitter.

Kevin Honeycutt and Jimmy Casas delivered more WOW as they tied it together with a phenomenal ending. This is heavy material and being in the prison changed the focus for attendees. The purpose was to break the old cycle of shackles in education and bring new ideas and life to impact and reach all students every single day!
