Board of Governors
The Mid-Ohio ESC Board of Governors is a dedicated group of individuals representing various areas within our region. Together, they provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to ensure the success and growth of our schools and communities. Below, you will find a group photo, along with individual photos and a short bio for each member.
Doug Theaker
Doug Theaker served on the Board of Education for the Ontario Local Schools for 20 years and has served on the Board of Governors for Mid-Ohio ESC since 1997. In 2013, he was recognized with an Outstanding Leadership Award from OESCA. Theaker is involved in a number of community and regional activities.
Bill McFarland
Bill McFarland is a retired educator, with 39 years’ experience, 29 as an administrator with several districts in NW Ohio. He lives in Lucas where he serves on the Lucas Community Center Board and is a member of the Lucas Lions Club.
Glenna Plotts
Glenna Plotts served as superintendent of Pioneer Career and Technology Center for nine years and retired in December 2014 after 28 years. She is also a former member of the Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees.
Brad Geissman
Brad Geissman lives in New Washington and is president at the AMC Masonry Contractors in Mansfield.
Kyle Swigart
Kyle Swigart works at Modern Office Methods (MOM) and has a number of years of business and sales experience.
Bill Hope
Bill Hope is a resident of Clear Fork and a retired owner of Alumni Roofing Company. He previously was the co-founder of an engineering software company located in suburban Philadelphia. He is currently on the Board of Knox County and Pioneer Career Technology Centers. He also serves on the Board of Richland County Children Services.
Linda Schumacher
Linda Schumacher has been a lifelong resident of Shelby. She has her associate's degree in accounting, is a certified CPA, and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She has served as the Treasurer for Pioneer Career and Technology for the past 12 years and recently retired in December 2023.
