Upcoming Professional Development from Student Services

The Department of Student Services at Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center has numerous professional development programs coming up this month. There is also a free event for parents of students with special needs hosted by Mid-Ohio ESC’s Parent Mentors.

For educators and administrators, an initial training for CPI will be held at Mid-Ohio ESC on January 11th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., hosted by Ann Pfister. The first 3 virtual sessions of the Effective Classroom Practices after school series will be held January 11th, 18th and 25th from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., hosted by Cathy Csanyi, Educational Consultant. Series B of Structures Systems 4 Student Success will take place at Mid-Ohio ESC January 18th through 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., hosted by Ang Fetter, Educational Consultant. The first Zoom session of Tier 1 Implementation of the Multi-Tiered System of Support on January 19th from 2 to 4 p.m., hosted by Ms. Csanyi. The first session of Series 2 of Functional Behavior Assessment - Behavior Intervention Planning is set for January 24th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Mid-Ohio ESC and hosted by Ms. Fetter. The PBIS Tier II Readiness Zoom workshop for Cohort B will take place January 27th from 2 to 4 p.m. with Ms Csanyi hosting.

For parents of children with special needs and any special education professionals that want to attend, on January 19th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Common Mistakes Parents Make in the IEP Process will be held via Zoom conference. This event is hosted by Mid-Ohio ESC’s Parent Mentors, Lindsey Howald and Jenny Keesee, along with guest speaker Lisa Lightner of, "A Day in our Shoes: Don't IEP Alone." This is a free event.
